How to Age Calculator & Birthday Card Maker for Free

Age Calculator & Birthday Card Maker in three simple steps — no signup, no installation required.

1

Enter Your Birth Date

Tap the Date of Birth field and pick the day you were born. The tool uses your device's native calendar, so it works the same way it does in every other app on your phone or laptop.

2

See Your Exact Age

Your age appears in years, months, and days the moment you pick a date — no Submit button. Below it, a detail panel shows days and hours lived, your next birthday countdown, the day of the week you were born, and your Western and Chinese zodiac signs.

3

Change the "As Of" Date to Calculate Any Age

By default the calculator uses today. Change the second field to any past or future date to see how old someone was on a specific day — a photo from 1998, a friend's age at their wedding, or what age you'll be at retirement.

Why Use JTooler's Age Calculator Tool

Fast, free, and built for privacy. Here's what makes it different.

Exact Age in Years, Months, and Days

Not an estimate, not a decimal, not "about 42 years" — the exact calendar breakdown that passports, visas, insurance forms, and school registrations ask for. Leap years and month-length differences are all handled correctly so Feb 29 birthdays and late-month births come out right.

Days, Hours, and Weeks Lived

See exactly how many days and hours you've been alive, updated the moment you enter your birth date. The kind of fact that makes for a great "wow" screenshot on a milestone birthday card, a Instagram story, or a retirement party slide.

Next Birthday Countdown + Day of the Week

Know exactly how many days until your next birthday and what day of the week it lands on — so you can start planning the party, booking a restaurant, or working out whether it's a Saturday or a dreaded Monday.

Western and Chinese Zodiac Signs

Your Western zodiac sign (with element), the day of the week you were born, and your Chinese zodiac animal — all computed from your birth date. Great conversation starters for a birthday message or a personalized card.

Any Past or Future Date, Not Just Today

Most age calculators only tell you your current age. This one lets you pick any reference date so you can answer "how old were you when…" questions or plan forward ("how old will I be in 2040?"). One tool, every age-math question.

Private by Design, No Signup

Your birth date never leaves your browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is logged, and there's no account, no email, no tracking. Close the tab and everything is gone — exactly how a calculator should work.

When to Use an Age Calculator

Age math shows up in more places than you'd think — from paperwork to planning the perfect birthday surprise. Here's where this tool earns its spot on your bookmarks bar:

Forms, Visas, and Applications

Passport renewals, visa forms, insurance applications, and school registrations often ask for exact age in years and months on a specific date. Get the precise answer without counting on your fingers.

Plan a Surprise Birthday

Find out exactly how many days until your friend's, partner's, or parent's next birthday — and what day of the week it falls on — so you can book the restaurant, send the invites, and line up the surprise without missing the day.

Milestone Birthdays (30, 40, 50, 60)

Counting down to a milestone year? See exactly when it lands and start planning early. Pair the calculator with a milestone birthday card to make the occasion memorable.

Celebrate a Friend or Loved One

Use the days-lived number as a unique detail in a birthday message — "10,000 days of you in my life" is more memorable than "happy 27th!" Makes for a standout Instagram story or a card message people remember.

Historical Age Lookups

Curious how old someone was in a specific photo, letter, or event? Enter their birth date, change the "as of" field to that date, and you have the answer in seconds. Great for family tree research, biographies, and history projects.

Retirement, Eligibility, and Life Planning

Figure out exactly when you hit 60, 65, 67, or whatever age unlocks a pension, a discount, an eligibility window, or a life goal. Set the "as of" field to the date and the math is done.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about age calculator.

Enter your birth date in the first field and the calculator will instantly show your exact age in years, months, and days. The math works the way a human would do it on paper: subtract the birth year from the current year, then adjust for the month and day. Leap years, month-length differences, and end-of-month births are all handled correctly.

Your device's local timezone. A baby born at 11pm your local time is "today" in this calculator even if it's already tomorrow in UTC. This matches what you'd expect looking at your own calendar and avoids the "my age is off by a day" confusion that catches out timezone-unaware calculators.

A person born on Feb 29 is treated as turning one year older on Mar 1 of non-leap years and on the real Feb 29 of leap years. So someone born Feb 29 2000 becomes "1 year, 0 months, 0 days" on Mar 1 2001, and the next-birthday countdown correctly targets Feb 29 in leap years and Mar 1 in non-leap years.

Yes. Change the second field ("As of date") to any past or future date and the age updates instantly. This is the same flow for both directions — look up how old you were on your wedding day, or how old you'll be at retirement. One tool answers every age-math question.

Days and weeks are exact to the day. Hours and minutes are approximations anchored to midnight on your birth date since the calculator does not ask for a birth time (you can add or subtract up to ~12 hours for the true exact number if you know the hour you were born).

From the month and day of your birth date using the standard tropical zodiac dates (e.g., Aries Mar 21–Apr 19, Taurus Apr 20–May 20, and so on). The calculator also shows the sign's classical element (Fire, Earth, Air, or Water).

For most birth dates it's exact. The Chinese zodiac cycles every 12 years, and our calculator uses the standard (year − 4) mod 12 formula. The one edge case is births in late January or early February, where the actual lunar New Year cutoff may fall a day or two later than January 1 — in those cases, verify against a lunar-calendar source if the result looks off.

Any birth date in the past is supported, from the early 1900s back to the year 1. The calculator will refuse a future birth date (you can't yet be alive before you're born) and show an inline error so nothing silently breaks.

Yes — the next update turns this tool into a full birthday card maker. Pick a template for a friend, partner, child, parent, or milestone (30/40/50/60), personalize the message, and share the card on WhatsApp, Messages, or anywhere else in a single tap. The calculator will stay exactly as it is now; the card feature lives in a second tab.

No. Everything runs in your browser — we never see, log, or store the date you enter. Close the tab and it's gone. No account, no email, no tracking, and no hidden upsell after a few uses.
