Free QR Code Generator
Create custom QR codes for websites, Wi-Fi, contacts, location, calendar events, social profiles, Bitcoin and more. Add a logo, pick a frame, copy or download as PNG or SVG — no signup, no expiration, no tracking.
How to Free QR Code Generator for Free
Free QR Code Generator in three simple steps — no signup, no installation required.
Pick a QR code type
Choose what your code should do when scanned — open a website, join a Wi-Fi network, save a contact as a vCard or MeCard, drop a Maps pin, add a calendar event, kick off a Bitcoin payment, or shortcut to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, the App Store, or PayPal.
Fill in your content
Enter the URL, network password, contact details, or message. The preview updates live with every keystroke so you can see exactly what the scanned code will do.
Pick a template or customize the look
Tap one of the ready-made templates, or open Set colors, Add logo, Frame, and Customize design to fine-tune the dot pattern, corners, frame caption, and colors. Error correction auto-bumps to 30% whenever a logo is present so the code still scans reliably.
Download, copy, or share
PNG is great for screens, social posts, and casual printing. SVG is a vector — scale to any size without losing sharpness for posters, business cards, and banners. Copy ships the QR straight to your clipboard so you can paste it into a chat, email, or doc.
Why Use JTooler's QR Code Generator Tool
Fast, free, and built for privacy. Here's what makes it different.
17 QR Types in One Place
Generate QR codes for websites, Wi-Fi (SSID + password + encryption), vCard and MeCard contacts, plain text, pre-filled emails, SMS, phone calls, Maps locations, calendar events, Bitcoin (BIP21), plus one-tap shortcuts for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, the App Store, and PayPal — no hunting for a separate generator per type.
Frame + Caption for Marketing Prints
Add a banner-bottom, banner-top, or rounded frame around your QR with editable caption text — “SCAN ME”, “MENU”, “PAY HERE”, “FOLLOW US”, or your own. Frame and caption colours are configurable, and the frame ships in your PNG and SVG download as part of the artwork.
One-Tap Design Templates
Jump straight to a polished look with eight starter templates — Bold black, Rounded teal, Classy navy, Marketing yellow, and more. Templates set colours, dot shape, eye shape, and frame in one click; tweak afterwards if you like.
Real QR Code Branding with Logo
Upload a PNG, JPG, or SVG logo up to 2 MB. It sits centered on the code at a safe 22% diameter, and the error-correction level automatically jumps to H (30%) so scanners still read the code reliably even with the logo on top.
Custom Colors + Six Dot Styles
Pick any foreground and background color or use one of the curated presets. Choose from Square, Rounded, Dots, Classy, Classy Rounded, and Extra Rounded dot styles, plus three distinct corner (eye) shapes — match your QR to your brand without paying a monthly fee.
PNG, SVG, and Clipboard Copy
Download as PNG (great for screens and social posts), as scalable SVG (perfect for print and signage), or copy the rendered QR straight to your clipboard to paste into Slack, Notion, Gmail, or your design app — no save-and-reupload dance.
What to Do with QR Codes
QR codes turn anything scannable — a poster, a business card, a WiFi sticker — into a one-tap shortcut. Here are the most common ways to use them:
Share Your Wi-Fi Password
Print a Wi-Fi QR and stick it on the fridge or hang it by the door. Guests scan once and their phone joins the network — no more spelling out your weird password character by character.
Digital Business Cards
A vCard QR on your badge, business card, or email signature lets anyone save your name, phone, email, company, and title to their contacts in one tap — no typing, no transcription errors.
Restaurant & Cafe Menus
Point a QR on each table at your digital menu. Customers scan, browse, and order without downloading an app or touching a shared paper menu.
Event Check-In & Tickets
QR codes on conference badges, event tickets, and wedding invites speed up check-in and let organizers verify attendance with a phone scan.
Social Media Growth
Put a QR on flyers, product packaging, or business cards that links to your Instagram, TikTok, or LinkedIn. One scan and the follower is on your profile.
Google Review Requests
Generate a QR that points to your Google Business review link and place it at the register, in the check folder, or on the receipt. Customers scan, leave a review, you grow your reputation.
App Downloads
Link your QR to the iOS App Store or Google Play listing. Users scan and land on the right store for their device — no typing the app name, no risk of installing a knockoff.
Product Packaging & Labels
Point a QR on product packaging to instructions, a how-to video, a warranty form, or a reorder page. Free up label space and give customers a tappable shortcut.
Find-Us QR (Location pin)
Drop a Location QR on a flyer, business card, or storefront window. Scanning opens the visitor’s default Maps app with your pin pre-dropped — no typing the address into a search bar.
Event Invites & RSVPs
A Calendar Event QR on a wedding invite, conference flyer, or meet-up poster lets attendees add the date to their phone calendar in one tap — no manual entry, no missed reminders.
Bitcoin Tip Jars & Donations
A Bitcoin QR with your address pre-filled on a poster, a livestream overlay, or a donation page makes it trivial for supporters to send sats — wallets pre-fill the send screen instantly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about qr code generator.
Pick a content type above — URL, Wi-Fi, vCard, MeCard, text, email, SMS, phone, Location, Event, Bitcoin, or any of the brand shortcuts (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, App Store, PayPal) — fill in the fields, optionally pick a template, customize the colours, add a logo or a frame, and click Download PNG or SVG (or Copy to put it on your clipboard). There’s no signup, no watermark, and no limit on how many QR codes you can make.
Yes — as long as the logo stays in the middle and doesn’t cover more than about a quarter of the code. Whenever you upload a logo, this tool automatically bumps the error-correction level to H (30%), which is the level designed to stay scannable even when part of the code is obscured. The 22% centered logo placement used here is the industry-standard safe zone.
No. These are static QR codes — the destination is encoded directly into the pattern. Once printed, the code works forever without any active service on our end. You don’t need an account, a subscription, or to log in to keep it working. (Dynamic QR codes, which do expire if you stop paying a provider, are a different product; we don’t offer them because they require ongoing hosting that would force us to charge.)
Not with a static QR code — the pattern points straight at your destination with nothing in between to count scans. If you need scan analytics, the usual approach is to point your QR at a short redirect URL that your analytics platform owns (bit.ly, a self-hosted redirector, or a full dynamic-QR SaaS). You can generate that short URL elsewhere and paste it into the URL field above.
PNG is a raster image — a grid of pixels at a fixed resolution (1024×1024 here). Best for screens, social posts, and small-to-medium prints. SVG is a vector — math-defined shapes that scale to any size without blurring or pixelating. Pick SVG for posters, business cards at the printer, billboards, or any time the QR will be resized after download.
Pick Wi-Fi in the type switcher, enter the network name (SSID) and password, and choose the encryption (WPA / WPA2 for most home networks, WEP for older hardware, or None for open networks). On iOS 11+, Android 10+, and Huawei/MIUI builds, scanning the result pops a “Join network” prompt — no password typing needed.
M (15%) is the sweet spot for most QR codes — reliable scanning with a reasonably sparse pattern. Use L (7%) only for long payloads that need every possible pixel (rare). Q (25%) and H (30%) produce denser codes but recover gracefully from scratches, folded corners, and logo overlays. Whenever you add a logo this tool automatically selects H.
Every iPhone running iOS 11+ (that’s iPhone 5s and newer) and every Android phone running Android 8+ can scan QR codes straight from the built-in camera app — no separate scanner app needed. Older devices can use the free Google Lens app or any camera app with QR support.
Aim for 2.5 cm (1 inch) wide at the minimum for scanning at arm’s length. For posters or signs scanned from across the room, scale up proportionally — a general rule is 1/10th of the scan distance. More error-correction margin (Q or H) gives you more latitude to go smaller. Pick the “Print” size preset (2048 px) before downloading so the artwork stays sharp at large sizes.
Choose Location in the type switcher and paste the latitude and longitude (in Google Maps, right-click any spot and the lat,lon coordinates appear at the top of the menu — click them to copy). Optionally add a pin label. Scanning the result opens the user’s default Maps app with the pin pre-dropped.
Yes — pick Event, enter the title, start, and (optionally) end times, plus location and description. Toggle “All-day event” for things like conferences or holidays. The QR encodes a vCalendar/vEvent block that iOS Calendar, Google Calendar, and Outlook all recognise — scanning it offers a one-tap “Add to Calendar” action.
Yes. Pick Bitcoin, paste your address (Legacy, SegWit, or Bech32 — bc1… all work), and optionally pre-fill an amount, label, and message. Scanning the result with Bitcoin Core, BlueWallet, Wallet of Satoshi, or any BIP21-compatible wallet pre-fills the send screen so the sender doesn’t have to copy the address by hand.
Functionally, none — the brand shortcuts on this tool encode the URL you enter exactly the same way as the URL type. The brand chips just give you a familiar icon, a more relevant placeholder, and a hint about what kind of link to paste, so you don’t have to think about which type to pick when you’re sharing a YouTube channel, an Instagram profile, or an App Store listing.
A frame wraps your QR with a coloured banner and an editable caption (“SCAN ME”, “MENU”, “PAY HERE”, “FOLLOW US”, or your own text). It dramatically lifts scan rates on print collateral — research from QR analytics platforms shows captioned QR codes scan 2–4× more often than unframed ones because the caption makes it obvious the image is interactive.
Yes — click Copy and the rendered QR (with frame and logo if you have them) lands on your clipboard as a PNG. Paste it directly into Slack, Discord, Gmail, Notion, Figma, Word, or any app that accepts pasted images. No download → upload round-trip needed.
The tool is fully free, forever. JTooler is supported by display ads on the site, not subscription fees — so every feature (logo upload, SVG export, all seven types, unlimited QR codes) is unlocked for everyone. We don’t sell your data, we don’t store your content, and there’s no “upgrade” button hidden anywhere.
